About this tool

Renaming a company throughout a document, swapping a product name across a set of descriptions, or stripping a repeated marker out of extracted text are all jobs where doing it by hand guarantees you will miss one. Missing one in a contract or a mail-merge is embarrassing.

Enter what to find and what to replace it with, and every occurrence is changed at once, with the number of replacements reported so you can confirm the count matches what you expected. Leave the replacement empty to delete matches instead. Matching ignores capitalisation by default, which catches the same phrase at the start of a sentence and mid-sentence; switch on exact matching when case carries meaning.

What it's good for

  • Renaming a company or product throughout a document.
  • Removing a repeated marker from extracted text.
  • Updating a URL or reference across a block of content.
  • Anonymising a name before sharing a text extract.

  • Case option

Match capitalisation exactly when it matters.

  • Deletion mode

Leave the replacement empty to remove matches.

  • Safe input

Your search text is treated literally, not as a pattern.
