Options for PDF to Excel

Rows are detected from text lines and columns are split where wide gaps appear. Complex or borderless tables usually need tidying up in your spreadsheet afterwards.

How to pdf to excel

  1. 1Upload the PDF containing the data.
  2. 2Convert — each page becomes a sheet.
  3. 3Open the .xlsx file and tidy up the columns.

About this tool

Bank statements, invoices and reports arrive as PDFs with data locked inside them. Retyping is slow and error-prone. This tool reads each page's text, treats every line as a row and splits it into cells where the original layout left a wide gap or a tab.

The result is an .xlsx workbook with one sheet per page, which is a working starting point rather than a perfect table. PDFs contain no table structure, so no converter can be exact; getting numbers into cells you can sort and total is usually 90% of the job.

What it's good for

  • Getting statement transactions into a spreadsheet for reconciliation.
  • Extracting a price list from a supplier PDF.
  • Pulling figures out of a report to chart them.
  • Turning an invoice breakdown into rows you can total.

Features

  • One sheet per page

Pages stay separate so context is not lost.

  • Column detection

Wide gaps and tabs are treated as cell boundaries.

  • Real .xlsx

Opens in Excel, Numbers, LibreOffice and Google Sheets.

  • Local conversion

    Financial documents are never uploaded.

Questions people ask

Why are columns merged?
Columns separated by a single space cannot be distinguished from words. Use Excel's Text to Columns to finish the split.
Does it work on scans?
No. OCR the document first, then convert the recognised text.
Are formulas or formatting recreated?
No — you get values, ready for your own formatting.
