About this tool

PNG is the right choice when a page is mostly text, line art, a chart or a diagram. Unlike JPG it never introduces halos or blocky artefacts around sharp edges, so screenshots of tables and technical drawings stay legible even at small sizes.

The trade-off is file size: a PNG of a photographic page can be several times larger than the JPG equivalent. Pick PNG for diagrams and documentation, JPG for photo-heavy pages. Pages are rendered locally at the DPI you select and delivered as a ZIP when there is more than one.

What it's good for

  • Exporting a chart or diagram page for documentation.
  • Creating crisp screenshots of a table for a wiki.
  • Preparing page images for a design mock-up.
  • Archiving a page without any lossy compression.
