Options for Strikeout PDF

Leave empty for every page. Use ranges like 2-5 and lists like 1,4,9.

A strikeout is a visual mark. The struck text remains in the file and can still be copied — use Redact PDF to remove content properly. Placement is measured in percentages from the top-left corner of the page, so it works on any page size.

About this tool

In contract negotiation and document review, struck-through text means something specific: this stays visible so both sides can see what changed, but it no longer applies. That is different from deletion, and it is why lawyers and editors mark up rather than remove.

Set the page and the band the line should cross and a stroke is drawn through the middle of that area. Red is the conventional colour for deletions, but you can use any. If the aim is to make content unreadable rather than visibly cancelled, use Redact PDF instead.

What it's good for

  • Marking a clause as deleted during negotiation.
  • Showing an item as cancelled on a list or invoice.
  • Editorial mark-up on a draft.
  • Indicating a superseded figure while keeping it visible.

Features

  • Conventional mark-up

Struck text stays visible, as review practice expects.

  • Colour and thickness

    Match your mark-up convention.

  • Multi-page

Apply across a range of pages.

  • Clear about limits

Not a substitute for redaction, and says so.
