About this tool

Cropping in percentages rather than pixels is what makes batch work possible. If a set of scans all have the same 5% border, or a group of screenshots all include the same toolbar at the top, one setting removes it from every file regardless of their individual dimensions.

Start from the left and top edges, then give the width and height of the region you want to keep. Zero, zero, one hundred, one hundred keeps everything; ten, ten, eighty, eighty trims a tenth from each side.

What it's good for

  • Removing scanner borders from a batch of scans.
  • Trimming a browser toolbar off a set of screenshots.
  • Isolating the same region from several photographs.
  • Cropping images to a consistent shape for a gallery.

Questions people ask

Can I crop visually by dragging?
Not yet — coordinates are used, which is what makes batch cropping possible.
How do I make a square?
Set matching width and height percentages only if the source is square; otherwise crop then resize.
Is quality lost?
Cropping removes pixels but does not resample the ones that remain.
